Seth Standley Charges To Top-10 in Marysville!

By: Fast Time Media

5/31/23... Marysville, California: Saturday Night, Seth Standley would be back in action with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour. Seth would end up having a pretty goodnight, as he would charge forward & bring home a 9th place finish.

The night began with qualifying, as Seth would be the 7th car in group three to hit the track. Seth would nearly get into the wall on lap two, but was able to rebound on lap number two & finish qualifying 6th quickest in his group.

"In qualifying, I was the last car out in my group, and I made a mistake exiting turn 2 on my first lap and almost hit the wall, but would recover on my 2nd lap and get 6th in qualifying."

He would line up on the outside of row three in the 6th spot for the heat race. Starting 6th, he would need to get into the top-5 to transfer. Seth hounded the 5th place driver all race, but was not able to make the pass & finished 6th.

"In the heat race, I started 3rd row outside and I only needed 1 spot to make it straight to the show. I was all over the fifth place car the whole race, but just couldn’t find a way around him, so I finished 6th."

Seth started the B-main in 2nd on the outside of the front row. Early on he would battle for the lead. However, Seth would end up grabbing the lead. On a late race restart, he would fall to 2nd where he would finish & transfer to the B-main.

"This set me up to start front row outside, where I battled with a car for the lead for the first 5 laps. I finally got out front, but on a restart, a car drove around me so I ended up 2nd."

For the feature event, Seth rolled off from 22nd. Early on, he struggled to move forward. However, around lap ten Seth would begin charging forward. He would almost get into the top-10 before a red would come out.

Under red, Seth would be taken to the work area after a miscommunication with officials. Seth would have to restart from the back. However, he would still charge forward. He would get to the 9th spot where he finished the feature.

"In the 35 lap feature, I started 22nd and didn’t make many moves early on, but then around lap 10 I started gaining positions and was almost into the top 10," Seth continued. "A red came out, and there was a miscommunication between my crew and the officials. They took me to the work area which put me in the back. Coming from the back on around lap 20, I still went forward and finished with my first top 10 in SCCT, finishing 9th."

It was a very good night for Seth Standley in Marysville. Seth would have really good speed & was able bring home his best finish of the 2023 season.

Seth would like to thank his sponsors; SALCO Better Energy, Swimming Pool Perfections, and Yuba City Scrap and Steel.
