Seth Standley Collects 20th Place Finish in Placerville!

By: Fast Time Media

6/28/23… Placerville, California: Saturday Night, Seth Standley was back in action in Placerville Speedway. He battled a strong field of Winged 360 Sprint Cars, and would come home with a 20th place finish.

The night would get underway with qualifying, where Seth would go out late. He would be the 20th of 27 cars to hit the track. Seth would make some mistakes & almost got upside down. However, he ended up laying down a time of 11.760 & ended up 24th quickest overall.

Seth would line up for his heat race on the outside of row three in 6th spot. Only the top-4 would transfer so he had some work to do. He got a good start & was in 4th after the first pair of corners. Seth got to 3rd & was battling for 2nd before a caution came out. On the last lap, Seth fell back to 4th where he finished.

“To start the night off at Placerville, we went out late in the field for qualifying, where I made a mistake on both laps, one of my mistakes leading me to almost flip in turns 1 and 2 on my 2nd lap. I ended up 24th in qualifying, which set me to start 3rd row outside for the 4th heat with only 4 cars transferring to the A. I got a good start on the top, and ended up in the 4th spot after the first corner, and battled my way to 3rd and was going for 2nd when a yellow came out, but fell back to 4th on the last lap.”

He started the feature event on the outside of row nine in the 18th spot. The feature event went from green to checkered without a caution. When the checkered flag fell, Seth would finish in the 20th spot & end his night there.

“My terrible qualifying effort set me to start 18th out of the 20 car field where we ran all 25 laps hot and I ended up dead last.”

It was an up & down lap for Seth in Placerville. While things got off to a tough start in qualifying, he would rebound for his heat race & have a solid run. Unfortunately, he would struggle to move forward in the feature event & finish 20th.

Seth would like to thank his sponsors; SALCO Better Energy, Swimming Pool Perfections, and Yuba City Scrap and Steel.
