Seth Standley Finding Speed in Merced!

By: Fast Time Media

4/27/23... Merced, California: Saturday Night, Seth Standley & the team would be back in action, this time in Merced. It would be race #2 of the 2023 Sprint Car Challenge Tour. A strong field of 40 Winged 360 Sprint Cars would be in the pit area, ready to get rolling on Saturday.

He would get his night rolling with qualifying, where he would be the 1st car to hit the track in group three. Seth would lay down a solid lap of 10.922. That would end up putting Seth 8th quickest overall in his group.

"I was the first car out for the 3rd group in qualifying & I ended up 8th in my group out of 10 cars."

That would line Seth up in the 8th spot on the outside of row four in his heat race. He would hang on to the 8th spot for most of the heat race. However, on the last lap he would end up getting passed & falling back to 9th where he would finish.

"In the heat race I started fourth row outside & held my spot for most of the race. When they threw the checkered flag I slowed down, and I guess they threw it again so that put me back to 9th."

Seth would end up starting in the 3rd spot for the C-main event. He would start to get comfortable, as he would quickly jump to the lead. Once he got the lead, Seth would dominate the C-main & go on to win it.

"In the C I started 3rd & got out to the front right away. I kind of checked out in that one & won the C."

Next up would be the B-main, where Seth would need to get into the top-4 to make the feature. He would roll off from deep but quickly started making moves. Unfortunately, he would run out of time & finish the C-.main 9th & his night would come to an end.

"For the C-main I started somewhere in the back on the back row. I moved forward a few spots, made a few mistakes on restarts, and I wanna say we ended up 9th."

Overall it was a solid night for Seth & his team. They would unfortunately miss the feature, but Seth would get better as the night went on & was able to show off some solid speed.

Seth would like to thank his sponsors; SALCO Better Energy, Swimming Pool Perfections, and Yuba City Scrap and Steel.
