9/26/23… Petaluma, California: Saturday Night, Seth Standley & his team was back in action at Petaluma Speedway. They would battle with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour for this year’s Adobe Cup!
Seth started the night off with time trials. He was the second of six cars to hit the track for qualifying in his group. He would lay down a time of 13.553. That would only be enough to put Seth 4th quickest out of six cars in his group.
That lined him up in the third spot for his heat race. Seth quickly fell back to 4th where he ran early on. He would begin to reel in 3rd place as the race went on, before he hit the backstretch fall & got sent into the turn three wall. That ended up destroying the front end & bending the chassis, which ultimately ended his night.
“We were the second car to hit the track for qualifying, where I would go 4th quick out of 6 cars in my group. This set me to start 2nd row inside in my heat race. I ran 4th for the first 3 laps, and I was tracking down the 3rd place car when I hit the back stretch wall and sent me into the wall head on in turn 3. The impact destroyed the entire front end, and even bent the chassis which ended my night early.”
Unfortunately, Seth’s night would be done after his heat race. The damage was pretty significant on the car & could keep them out of action for a while as they rebuild the car.
