Seth Standley Has Tough Night in Placerville!

By: Fast Time Media

7/6/23… Placerville, California: Tuesday Night, Seth Standley was in action at Placerville Speedway for the 4th of July race. He would have an unfortunate night filled with bad luck which would end with a 18th place finish.

Seth started the night out with qualifying. He would be the 1st of 20 cars to hit the track. Unfortunately going out early would hinder him. The track sped up throughout qualifying, and Seth ended up 17th quickest overall.

That started him on the outside of row three in the 6th spot. Early on, Seth would move his way forward. He would get himself into the 4th spot. Unfortunately, he would spin with a couple laps left & finished in the 7th spot.

“I was the first car out in qualifying, which wasn’t good because the track got faster, so I ended up 17th quick. This set me to start 3rd row outside in the heat race. I made moves early on and was in the 4th spot, then with two to go almost hit the car in front of me so I checked up and spun the car out. Then they threw a green and white together, and unfortunately couldn’t pass anyone so I ended up 7th.”

He lined up in the 17th spot for the feature event. On lap one, Seth would get caught up in a big pile up. He’d go to the work area but his team got the car fixed & back on track in time. Just over a handful of laps later, something would break in the motor & bring his night to an end.

“On the first lap coming out of 3 and 4 a car spun and caused a huge pile up and I was involved, but luckily the guys worked hard enough in the hot pits so I could get back out. After this, we were 6 laps in and I broke something internally in the motor which ended my night.”

It was a rough night in Placerville filled with bad luck for Seth Standley. He had some good speed in the heat race, but that would end with him spinning. Then he had his night end with engine issues in the feature event.

Seth would like to thank his sponsors; SALCO Better Energy, Swimming Pool Perfections, and Yuba City Scrap and Steel.
