6/27/23… Burlington, Washington: Thursday & Friday, Billy Aton would be in action at Skagit Speedway for the 2023 Dirt Cup. He would have some good speed both Thursday & Friday. Unfortunately, Friday ended with Billy upside down & that ended his weekend.
He began the night with qualifying, where he would be the 29th of 41 cars to hit the track. Billy ended up 32nd quick & was the final car in the heat race inverts. He began the heat race on the pole after the invert. Billy rolled off from the pole & went on to win the heat race.
Everything was based off points, which lined Billy up 9th in the B-main. Starting 9th, Billy needed to get into the top-4 to transfer. He moved forward in the B-main, but not enough, as he finished in the 7th spot & his night one ended there.
Night two began with qualifying, where Billy was the 7th car to hit the track. Going out early, Billy would be in a much better position. He ended up going out & going 17th quickest out of the 41 cars that qualified in Friday Night.
He would start the heat race in the 4th position after the 8 car invert. Starting 4th, Billy would fall backwards in the heat race. He ended up falling back into the 8th spot & finish there.
That put Billy in the B-main, where Billy lined up in the 4th position. Starting 4th, Billy’s race would quickly come to an end. Going into turn four on lap one, Billy would get involved in an incident that sent him for a wild ride. He got out of the car & was okay. However, the damage brought his weekend to an end.
It was a solid weekend for Billy before his wreck on Friday Night. Billy has qualified 17th quick on Friday & won a heat race on Thursday.
