Wyatt Van Lare Takes Big Steps in First Full Season of Winged Sprint Car Action!

Updated: Dec 13, 2022

By: Chris Santos

12/12/22… Fast Time Media: This season would be the first full season of Wyatt Van Lare’s Winged Sprint Car career. They went into the season not knowing what to expect with Wyatt having limited experience behind the wheel of a Winged 360 Sprint Car.

The season would start off with some struggles early on. He would make his way to some big races across California in the early stages of the year. They would fail to make a feature through his first 7 races but got some valuable experience.

On June 18th, they would head to Petaluma Speedway to run with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour. Wyatt would have a good night as he would wheel his way to his first feature start of the year & bring home a 14th place finish.

Wyatt would spend a lot of his time this season at the Placerville Speedway for their weekly Winged Sprint Car races. He would get some valuable laps at the track that they could carry into the 2023 race season.

On September 24th, Wyatt would make his 2nd & final trip of the season to the Petaluma Speedway. This time a much stronger field of 28 Sprint Cars would make the trip for the Adobe Cup. Wyatt would once again impress as he would make his 2nd career feature & finish in 14th once again.

The Fall Nationals would see Wyatt struggle again as he would have a rough time against a strong field of 68 Winged 360 Sprint Cars. He would finish both of his nights early as he would finish 9th & 12th in the D-main events.

Finally, Wyatt would end his season at the Antioch Speedway as Winged Sprint Cars would finally return to the track. With 23 cars in attendance Wyatt would charge hard in the feature. He would end up going from 24th, to 7th ending his season with his best finish & his only top-10 of the year.

Overall, it was an up & down season as Wyatt would learn a ton. “Started off not really knowing a lot of things that you have to do to make the car act right.” As the 2022 season went on, he would get more comfortable & show more speed. “As I made more and more laps I started felling more comfortable in the car and i felt my self improving. I’m excited to keep on push forward and giving the 2023 season my best effort. If any one is looking for so advertisement we got some spots on the car that are open.

Wyatt’s 2022 Stats: 3 features, 0 wins, 0 top-5’s, 1 top-10
