Updated: Sep 27, 2022

By: Chris Santos

9/27/22…Petaluma California: Saturday Night, Wyatt  Van Lare & his team would make the last second decision to run at Petaluma with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour for the 2022 Adobe Cup. A great field of 28 Winged 360 Sprint Cars would be in the pit area & ready to go on Saturday Night.

His night would get rolling in group qualifying where he would go out in the 4th & final group. It would be a tough start to the night as he would struggle in qualifying. His fastest lap would end up putting him 7th quick in his group out of the 7 Winged 360 Sprint Cars in it.

The heat race would see hun roll off from the 7th position inside of row 4. He would start to find some speed on the Adobe Clay as he would make some good moves in the heat race. When the checkered flag fell, Wyatt would finish in the 5th & final transfer spot & lock himself into the Saturday Night feature event.

Wyatt would roll off in the feature from the outside of row 9 in the 18th position. It was a very treacherous and hooked up Petaluma surface. However, things would go Wyatt’s way throughout the feature event as he would get himself rolling.

He would avoid a few wrecks & make some very good passes. Throughout the caution filled feature Wyatt would stay strong & make some good laps. With around 8 laps to go, Wyatt would get into an incident with Andy Forsburg that would end both their nights and end with a 14th place finish, tying a career best finish for Wyatt.

It was an alright night for Wyatt Van Lare. Despite the late race incident he would find good speed on a very difficult Petaluma Speedway. When it was all said and done he would finish 14th.

Wyatt would like to thank his sponsors; Nope Kelly family, Mike papola custom cabinetry, VSR vanlare steering repair, CCI electrical, Schultz design, Fire protection management, RTR Rod Tiner Racing, Apiaries/David simms, Bianchi farms, and American Welding.

Next Race: 9/30, Silver Dollar Speedway, Fall Nationals.
